SAN JUAN (NORCECA) -- Puerto Rico complete the U-18 Continental Championship Final Four.
The Puerto Rican beat Guatemala 3-0 (25-10, 25-21 ) to reach the semifinal stage for the first time since Championship of 2010.
"We fought against a team that has much more experience than mine. These match the girls use to gain experience", commented the Guatemala head coach, Edgar Callejas.
"We try to use this match as preparation for the next match against USA, but to my surprise we made 25 errors in services. We need to avoid those mistakes and play faster to real option to win", said Ariel Ortiz, coach of Puerto Rico.
Loraine Lopez was the best scorer for Puerto Rico with 10 points and captain, Paulina Pérez achievement seven units.
Puerto Rico vs. United States will be the second semifinal on Tuesday, September 6. The match will be played at 20:00 (local time).
