SANTO DOMINGO (AccessDR) -- A strong dollar makes vacation packages to the Dominican Republic very attractive.
According to the BBC of London, tourism destinations – including the Dominican Republic – have much to gain from the upswing of the dollar.
In its story, the BBC states that the most important countries in the region – “with visits from tourists year round”- will greatly benefit from this situation, including the Dominican Republic.
The report also indicates that based on information provided by the World Tourism Organization, Mexico will receive 29 million tourists per year, Argentina (5.9 million), Brazil (5.8 million), and the Dominican Republic 5.1 million.
The main source of tourists from all these countries is North America.
With the rise in the dollar, vacation packages to these destinations will be significantly cheaper and attractive not only for North American tourists but also from tourists from Europe.
