ROAD TOWN, Tortola (BVIHSA) -- October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The staff at British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority and visitors to Peebles Hospital participated in the community activity “Wear PINK” initiative, spearheaded by BVI Cancer Society. The “Wear PINK” initiative is a community wide activity to bring awareness of breast cancer. It encourages women to get tested to find breast cancer earlier, understand their treatment options and cope with the physical and emotional side effects.
The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority is offering free mammogram gift vouchers sponsored by Sensus Health Club. While supplies last, persons in need of a free mammogram gift voucher are kindly asked to contact the Community Health Clinic nearest you or contact the Outpatient Specialty Clinic at 852-7530.
